Plans for extension are announced

Plans for extension are announced

We are delighted to announce our plans to extend the home, and create 12 new resident bedrooms.

We know we run a good quality home and we want to be able to offer our high standard of individual care to more people.

Hampton House has been a care home for over 50 years and has had to adapt to meet changing demands. We want to continue running Hampton House as a family business for years to come and this modest expansion will give us the opportunity to build on what we’ve already achieved and create broader career opportunities and increase the number of people we employ.

The extension has started

The extension has started

We’re all really excited that our extension has started!

The modest expansion will mean that we can keep the family feel about the home – we won’t be too big! We all know that biggest does not necessarily mean best!

The builders arrived on 3rd September 2012, to commence work on our additional 12 new resident bedrooms. The bedrooms will be super – and weather permitting, completed by May 2013.

We will be able to maintain our compassionate and generous atmosphere and offer our services to more elderly people. Our residents will still be made to feel special! And our additional facilities will help us achieve that!

We are always keen to support this fund raising event and we are delighted to announce we raised £234.

Joining the annual fund raising, Macmillan Coffee morning, takes a bit of organising – but the Macmillan balloons and posters were flapping, and the lounges were full of friends enjoying the morning.

Coffee cups were kept topped up throughout while our residents and visitors indulged on our delicious home baked cakes, biscuits and shortbread!

Raffle prizes had been kindly and generously donated by staff, residents, families and friends. Our raffle table was simply overflowing.

Thank you everyone for making our event so successful.

The extension is progressing - we now have some walls!

The extension is progressing - we now have some walls!

We are nearing the end of Week 9 of our building works, for our new extension of 12 resident bedrooms.

Despite some rainy and particularly wet days, the building work is going according to plan and we are on time – dare we say it, slightly ahead of plan!

The ground works and foundations are complete and the outside walls are starting to be built. Lots of men are beavering away and lots of pairs of eyes watching the progress, mainly from the inside, now the weather has become colder.

The mood in the home is very upbeat amongst the residents and staff. No disruptions and lots of stimulation for new conversations.

Our extension is progressing despite the cold weather!

Our extension is progressing despite the cold weather!

The building work to our extension is progressing. We are hoping for the roof to be completed before Christmas. The builders are working hard despite the freezing temperatures and the progress can be seen by our ever changing and evolving new building.

Roll on springtime!
